After eight months of training, probationary constables Kayla Wilson, Emma Nicholson and Darren Rondo graduated from the Goulburn police academy on Friday, December 3 and joined the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District for their first day of work on Monday, December 6.
The Port Stephens-Hunter Police District has been allocated 15 probationary constables this year, coming as the NSW Government aims to introduce 1500 extra police to the state in the next four years to "enhance community safety".
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Taylor Martin welcomed the newest police recruits who elected to "serve this community".
The Port Stephens-Hunter trio will spend the next 12 months receiving on-the-job training and studying a Associate Degree in Policing Practice.
The Port district also received new police recruits in April, June and August.
