At the luncheon, auxiliary president Pauline Parrish presented Max Harman, chairman of Nelson Bay Bowling Club's board, with a certificate of appreciation for its support of the group's fund-raising activities throughout the year.
The event was described as a "fun day" with "lots of cheer, laughter and delicious lunch to end the year".
Auxiliary members are dedicated volunteers who raise funds used to purchase much needed equipment on the Nelson Bay hospital's wishlist. Publicity officer Deborah Schofield said the auxiliary offered residents an opportunity to help the hospital.
"If you enjoy sewing, knitting, or doing any craft join the auxiliary. You will catch up with like-minded ladies, have a chat, go to lunch and raise money for your local hospital," she said.
