It is expected to draw 131 teams using approximately 14 fields including the No. 1 sports field.
President Ian Doherty said that ages would range from under 10s to 18s for both boys and girls. "The under 10s are back playing at the tournament after a year's break. Nelson Bay has 10 teams competing."
"We are working out of the new clubhouse this year, which is fantastic to have such a first class, purpose-built facility designed to cater for large events, which means no more building makeshift barbecue areas."
Mr Doherty said that another large contingent of committee and parent volunteers would be required to run and work throughout the two-day tournament.
"Players from the 12-18 divisions will be trailing during the weekend to represent the Hornets and the junior regionals to take place later in the year."
