The Karuah River Men's Shed is one of the 44 community organisations across Australia to receive a grant from the government under the Shed Development Program.
President of the Men's Shed John King said the laptop would be used to track the progress of their falls prevention program Stepping On, as well as to organise community events and charity work.
"We are so happy to receive the funding. We have other infrastructure and the people to assist us, we just needed the computer to power it all," he said.
Member for Paterson Bob Baldwin said Men's Sheds had his full support and were a fantastic idea.
"They provide the opportunity for men of all ages to come together, share information, and create support networks which enable them to work on practical projects at their own pace," he said.
A new round of funding is open for Men's Sheds. Details are on mensshed.org/home/.aspx; email amasa@mensshed.net or phone 1300 550 009.
