Four young Nelson Bay players were selected for the Hunter region touch football team after standing out in the trials held on Friday, June 6.
Bayley Rae, from Anna Bay, and Harry Fraser, from Medowie, both 11, were selected for the under-12 boys' side while Andi Law, 11, from Boat Harbour, and Maddi Mitchell, 12, from Shoal Bay, were selected for the under-12 girls' side.
The two girls have the most experience, having played representative touch football for four years.
This will be Andi's fifth season playing representative touch, and Maddi's fourth. Both Harry and Bayley will enter their second season playing representative touch.
Each said they were excited to be selected for the team.
The boys will head to Ulladulla and the girls to Wagga Wagga for the all-schools championships in August. In their respective competitions, the Hunter sides will face other NSW regional teams over three days. Bayley said scouts would be looking at players for the state team.
