Raymond Terrace's grade one and five pennant teams in the Newcastle district league won their respective flags after both playing grand-final winning games against Heaton-Birmingham Gardens Women's Bowling Club recently.
"This year the Raymond Terrace club had four teams: grades one, two, three and five," Raymond Terrace Women's Bowling Club publicity officer Lorraine Brown said.
"We couldn't get a team together for grade four.
"But our club was lucky enough to pull two wins in two grades this year."
The wins come after playing Newcastle district clubs including Kotara, Charlestown, Soldiers Point and East Maitland in the past seven weeks.
Brown said while the club has won flags in almost every grade in the years it had competed in the competition, it felt good to win two in the one season.
A special flag unfurling was held at the Raymond Terrace Bowling Club last Tuesday with members of the Newcastle District Women's Bowling Association present.
The club will refocus for the next bout of lawn bowls, but first it will eagerly watch the television to see fellow bowling club member Natasha Scott (nee van Eldik) compete in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
