The 1642-stair race up Melbourne's Eureka Tower was held on November 16.
The tower is a whopping 300 metres tall with 88 levels to the top and Luck entered the emergency services category, climbing in his full Rural Fire Service uniform and kit.
The keen climber has been a member of the Rural Fire Service for 11 years and was representing the Medowie branch, while raising money for charities Whitelion and Interplast Australia and New Zealand for disadvantaged young people.
Scott McGraw, from South Melbourne, won the emergency services category, but was not wearing his full kit, with a time of nine minutes and 56 seconds.
The first person to the top wearing full kit posted a time of 13 minutes and seven seconds.
Mr Luck will now start training for next year's stair climb events.
"I am going to do the Q1 on the Gold Coast and the New Zealand Sky Tower [in Auckland]," he said.
