The Caltex petrol station along Richardson Road was cordoned off by police about 8am this morning while forensic police went through the shop.
It came after a masked man ran up the petrol station's shop about 1.30am and smashed the front door.
It is believed he used a hammer to force his way inside.
Once inside, he demanded cash from the attendant.
Police said the attendant had to scan an item for the register open.
A Cherry Ripe was used to open the register.
Police said the man ran off with the cash from the register and the chocolate bar.
CCTV footage is being looked at.
