Continuing the tradition of end-of-year fun and cheer, on December 24 council staff will perform Carols in the Office at the Forster chambers in Breese Parade.
Great Lakes mayor Jan McWilliams said Carols in the Office was an opportunity for the community to share in some good old-fashioned Christmas spirit, to reflect on the year past and to get together in anticipation of the new year.
‘‘Christmas is a very special time, not only for family and friends, but for the community at large to share good cheer with each other,’’ Cr McWilliams said.
‘‘I do hope you will be able to join us, even if only for a short while, to enjoy some carols and sing along with us.
‘‘This is an opportunity for council staff and councillors to thank local people for everything they do to build community in the Great Lakes.’’
The carolling will get under way at 9am.
- The council will shut down for the holidays from 1pm on December 24. Staff will be back on duty from 9am on Monday, January 5.
