While I dropped my green waste at Salamander on the last drop-off day, the inclement weather of the next week did not allow me to mow my lawns the following weekend.
When I was able to mow I found that I had 45 kilograms of cuttings to dispose of but as this was not a free weekend, it went into my general waste bin as land fill. I believe that the council has to pay a levy on landfill waste and if every household did the same it would be a great cost to the council.
Could the free day for households be extended to every Sunday of the month to avoid this cost to the council or, better still, could not it be extended to every day that the depot is open?
It does not take much supervision from my observations.
