Kerbing, guttering and road pavement were replaced as part of a $270,000 reconstruction project through the council’s urban rehabilitation program.
The project links with work in 2013 to reconstruct Stroud Street through the Bulahdelah town centre.
‘‘The work greatly improves the appearance of Meade Street, a location which is frequented by tourists and Pacific Highway motorists visiting the Bulahdelah town centre and the popular Wade Park area,’’ council engineering director Ron Hartley said.
The section of Meade Street the council replaced had been in poor condition and required regular maintenance, he said.
The existing road pavement was pulled up and replaced with new asphalt surfacing.
Council workers would linemark the street in 2015 and ‘‘better formalise parking’’, Mr Hartley said.
