The Police Country Cup, which involves teams representing the state's southern and northern regions plus the local side Hunter Hawks, will run from March 10-12.
"The Hawks are the reigning champions so we are hoping to go back to back in 2015," said veteran player and Port Stephens Highway Patrol officer Simon Chappell.
"The winner will go on to play the Sydney champions, so aside from the bragging rights there is plenty to play for."
Fellow Highway Patrol officer and former Nelson Bay threequarter Jason Wright will strap on the boots for his eighth season.
"I enjoy the camaraderie and you get some real exciting matches. It can be a great spectacle for those wishing to come out and watch."
The cup features three matches from 2pm each day, with the final being contested on Thursday, March 12. Entry is free.
