Ms Zambelis works as a legal secretary for the Raymond Terrace-based CMI Law Firm and is also a member of the Newcastle-based Sincerely Elvis tribute act.
She and the Sincerely Elvis group - rounded out by Wayne Cooper, Alicia Cooper and Paul Chaplain - have for four years travelled the countryside, performing the tribute show.
The long travel and hours paid off for the group, who won a Mo Award at the end of July for best tribute show.
The Australian Variety Artists Mo Awards recognise the best in the entertainment industry.
Ms Zambelis said that her membership of the group was a hobby but something she loved.
"I've been a performer for many years," she said.
"It's a hobby, an outlet. I enjoy doing it."
Ms Zambelis describes herself as a "loud" person who loves to sing.
As well as performing as a back-up singer with Sincerely Elvis, she performed solos and as Connie Francis in the group's newest tribute show, Heaven and Earth Legends.
The nomination in the Mo Awards came as a surprise to the group.
But more surprising was when they were announced as dual winners (alongside Tonite's the Nite) of the best tribute show award.
"It was a great surprise," Ms Zambelis said.
