Graham Croshaw said the club, which he has owned since 2010, was now "bigger and better" with the addition of a bathroom, functional training space and new equipment, plus increased size of the weight area.
The club also received a fresh paint job, which included a new colour scheme, tiles and carpet.
The freshening up is required of Anytime Fitness clubs every five years.
Mr Croshaw said though the new colours and updated cardio equipment were necessary, he did not have to expand.
That he decided to do himself to reward his members.
"We expanded to make our members happier, to give them more space and reasons to be happy about coming here," he said.
"We weren't looking to double our membership with the expansion but reward the ones we do have because we really do have the best group of members."
In the next couple of months members will see further changes with more equipment added to the club on top of the Life Fitness brand cardio equipment, lying leg curl and heavier dumb-bells.
Dumb-bells now go from one kilogram up to 60kgs, a weight not many gyms carry, Mr Croshaw said.
The club also has a new power rack for Olympic lifting.
A boxing bag and a Flexstrider were expected to be added to the club soon and it was hoped fitness classes would be added to the list of services offered in the future.
Sophie Higgins and Sarah O'Connor have worked alongside Mr Croshaw, also the owner of Anytime Fitness in Mayfield, since 2010.
Ms Higgins went from changing the bins as a 16-year-old to now managing the Raymond Terrace club.
"Meeting people, watching them go from nowhere to somewhere, seeing people who have never touched a treadmill before to losing so much weight; seeing the transformations some people go through is why I love my job," she says.
Anytime Fitness Raymond Terrace offers members 24-hour, seven-day-a-week access and the ability to access any other Anytime Fitness club around Australia.
Mr Croshaw was running a re-opening sale until Friday, August 28.
Anyone who called or dropped by the club, at 40 Richardson Road, by 3pm on Friday to become a member would pay $12.50 per week for 12 months.
After that he was offering memberships for $58.95 per month.
The club's is offering a crazy 12-hour sale, where it offers discounted memberships with no joining fees between 9am and 9pm on Wednesday, September 9.
