The arrests and seizure of drugs and guns came as part of Operation Doboy, formed by Port Stephens police in March to investigate the supply of methamphetamine also known as the drug 'ice', in the area.
About 7am on August 28, officers executed simultaneous search warrants at two homes in Sydney's Newtown and five in Port Stephens.
Residences in Tanilba Bay streets Pershing Place, Estramina Way and Tanilba Bay Avenue were searched as was one in Rigney Road, Shoal Bay, and one along Lemon Tree Passage Road, Salt Ash.
Across the five properties, police allegedly seized a large amount of drugs believed to be ice, approximately 6000 tablets believed to be amphetamines, a shotgun and two pistols.
During searches in Newtown, police dismantled a clandestine drug laboratory and seized nearly two litres of a liquid believed to be the drug GHB, tablets believed to be methylamphetamine and other items.
At the Newtown homes a 47-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested.
A 35-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both of Tanilba Bay, were arrested from two of the three Tanilba Bay homes on Friday for a number of possess and supply prohibited drugs offences.
Both were refused bail in court on Monday, August 31 and will appear for mention in Newcastle Local Court on October 21.
A third man, aged 73, from Tanilba Bay was issued a notice to attend Raymond Terrace Local Court on October 14 to face four firearms offences.
Investigations into the supply of drugs in the area are continuing.
Police are urging anyone with information to call Raymond Terrace Police Station on 4983 7599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
