ENJOY one of the Port's greatest Oktoberfest-inspired parties by heading to Murray's Brewery during the long weekend.
Two specially-brewed festival beers, Oktoberfest food (including gourmet sausages and house-made pretzels with mustard) and free "rocktoberfest" concerts will be held at the Bobs Farm brewery during the October 3-5 weekend.
"Technically, authentic 'Oktoberfest bier' is brewed only by the breweries within the city limits of Munich," said Murray's head brewer Graeme Mahy.
"All other beers brewed to emulate the original must be labelled Oktoberfest-style beer.
"Murray's is also brewing a traditional Oktoberfest beer - or should I say Oktoberfest-style beer - which is smooth, clean, and rather rich, with a depth of malt character.
"We're also launching a German IPA called The Kaiser, which is dry-hopped."
To complement the beer, the kitchen team at Murray's have also prepared an Oktoberfest menu.
On top of brews and food available at Murray's across the weekend will be live entertainment.
Newcastle rocker Brien McVernon is set to entertain on Saturday, October 3, while the popular Mark Wells Band will take up the entertaining reins on Sunday, October 4.
Entry is free but bookings are essential by calling 4982 6411 or at murraysbrewingco.com.au.
