Neil Biggar, secretary of the Medowie RSL sub-branch, said he hoped the awareness surrounding the 100 years of Anzac would draw larger crowds to remembrance services.
"There is a lot more public awareness about wars and remembrance this year, but it [Remembrance Day] is on a Wednesday and we realise people have to work," Mr Biggar said.
Services will be held at war memorials in Nelson Bay, Tanilba Bay, Raymond Terrace and Medowie.
A service will also be held at the site of a lone pine sapling inside Hunter Region Botanic Gardens with those wanting to attend asked to RSVP by November 9 on 4987 1655.
Mr Biggar said this was an important tradition to uphold as "if you forget history, you're condemned to repeat it".
"If we don't acknowledge the people who have died to guarantee our way of life, you're heading towards losing it," he said.
Sub-branch members and guests are invited to attend luncheons after the services in Tanilba Bay and Nelson Bay.
Williamtown RAAF Base will provide the Nelson Bay catafalque party while the Adamstown Army Barracks will supply a bugler.
