Being a kelpie-cross, Max has plenty of energy. But Mary Hickie from Port Stephens Animal Refuge, where Max was surrendered, said he would adjust well to some training.
“He needs a firm hand,” she said. “He’s strong and will need to be put in his place, but he is smart. He’ll respond well to training.”
Ten month old Max is liver and tan in colour.
He was surrendered to the Williamtown refuge when his owner moved and could not take the dog too.
Ms Hickie said Max has shown no signs of aggression while at the pound and would be for most families.
Max will cost $285 to adopt.
The cost covers vaccinations, desexing, microchipping and a lifetime registration.
