The strong monthly figure has seen the Williamtown-based airport post its highest January to March quarter since 2013, helped by the increase in services.

A total of 287,984 passengers accessed the airport in the quarter. 

“These strong results prove to me that there’s still capacity for our airport to grow and provide our region an airport it deserves,” Newcastle Airport’s CEO, Dr Peter Cock, said.
