Every month, members of the gym raise money through coffee purchases. Anytime Fitness Salamander Bay then match the amount raised by members and donate the funds to a charity.
This month, Endeavour Group Port Stephens were the recipients of $600 from staff and members of the gym.
For the past 12 months, Endeavour clients have been attending weekly fitness sessions at the gym with personal trainer Glenn Tarrant.
Mr Tarrant said each member of the group has shown a huge improvement in their skills and confidence since beginning the sessions.
“The improvements to our group’s fitness levels are truly incredible considering they have only been attending once a week,” he said.
“For example, we have clients riding spin bikes faster than the average person, while another client started riding a bike under her own power for the very first time.
“However, their individual skill and confidence levels are the true indicators of their improvements.
“By coming to the gym they get the chance to experience the social aspect of mixing and integrating with others at the gym. Our Anytime Fitness members and staff love the interaction.”
Endeavour Group Port Stephens will use the $600 to buy gym towels for each of its clients to use in their weekly fitness session.
Funds will also be used to purchase clients Taekwondo uniforms for their weekly sessions with Imugi Taekwondo as well as cooking utensils for their Endeavour Group Healthy Living Program.
