I have been asked on many occasions whether I am writing another book. The answer is - yes I am. This will be my first effort at writing books for children and will feature an old mate of mine - Stinkpot, my boat. The Adventures of Stinker and Stinkpot will hopefully hit the shelves around November.

The miserable cold wind and lumpy seas have reduced our fishing options over the past couple of weeks, however for those willing to brace the conditions the rewards are there. Stockton, Samurai and Fingal Beaches have been holding quality bream to 1.5kg and early morning tailor. I did receive a report that bream are jammed into the Grit Hole and will bite on anything. Inside the harbour, blue swimmer crabs are still crawling into traps and drop nets.
I met an interesting character this week who fished on the wreck of the Sygna for 15 years, occasionally sleeping in the cabins overnight. Paddling out on a surfboard, my mate caught bream, mulloway, snapper, luderick and flathead. After 40 years the wreck has gone.
