Chris Ron Feeney, 38, was arrested about 11.30am on Tuesday at a home on Mount Hall Road in Raymond Terrace.
He was wanted following a car chase the previous day in Raymond Terrace. The accused was taken to hospital under police guard because it was believed he was under the influence of illicit drugs.
In court on Wednesday, Feeney faced 10 charges.
He pleaded guilty to the possession of a prohibited drug (one dexamphetamine tablet) but not guilty to the other charges.
This included guilty pleas to the contravention of a domestic apprehended violence order, use of an unregistered and uninsured car, failure to stop, drive whilst disqualified, leading police on a pursuit (Skye’s Law), possession of a shortened firearm and failure to keep safely a firearm.
Feeney had last been at court on August 10 when the AVO orders were made and had entered into bail conditions.
His bail has been revoked and he will next appear in court on September 29.
A man police arrested earlier that day at a home in Banks Street Raymond Terrace appeared briefly in Newcastle local court on Wednesday.
The accused, Blake Payne, 21, was wanted for firearms possession. Police said a subsequent search had found a quantity of the drug ice in his possession.
He was bail refused on Wednesday and his matters were adjourned until August 26.
