Regardless of their appearance, everyone agreed, the array of robots on display at this year’s Robo Cup, Junior contest at the University of Newcastle was something to behold.
More than 350 primary and secondary students participated in the event.
West Wallsend robots took centre stage with their dancing robots.
West Wallsend Public School students will be showing off their dance moves this week without their feet touching the ground.
The school’s two five-member teams of Year 4 to Year 6 students used the prescribed programmable Lego blocks to build their dancing creations.
The students, who have been working on the project since Term 2, also coded their robot’s dance routines.
The Newcastle event is traditionally held as a warm up to next week’s state competition.
