Elsewhere: The Rooftop will be held on, you guessed it, the rooftop of 50 Bolton Street, Newcastle on September 3.
The event will give those who have snapped up a ticket the chance to enjoy a unique Newcastle experience from a new angle – overlooking the glittering harbour and ocean.
A stellar line-up of some of Australia’s best music talent, a boutique pop-up bar, and some tasty local food offerings are simply the icing on the cake.
ARIA award-winning artist Bob Evans – the folk pop alter-ego of Jebediah frontman Kevin Mitchell – will grace the Elsewhere stage on Saturday, along with Dustin Tebbutt.
Tebbutt, in the middle of touring his first album, First Light, around the country said he was looking forward to playing Elsewhere.
“I love doing shows in small towns, not just major cities,” he said.
“I grew up in regional Australia so you always really appreciated when a band came to town.”
It is not Tebbutt’s first trip to Newcastle, having played at the Small Ballroom, This That festival and supported Missy Higgins in the past.
He said he will be be performing songs from his new album, plus well-known tracks off his EPs.
“It’s been really fun to bring that new stuff to life,” he said.
“I have a couple of EPs, so I’ll be playing some favourites off those. It’s really starting to feel like a good set, people know a few of the songs. It’s amazing to hear the audience sing your songs to you.”
Newcastle artists James Thomson and De’May, Dave Wells and Dan Southward will also grace the Elsewhere stage on Saturday.
The inaugural Elsewhere in March 2015 featured Nobby’s Lighthouse as a backdrop. Last October it at Maitland Gaol.
Limited general admission tickets are still available. They start at $70 per person. The Examiner has one double pass to give away to Elsewhere: The Rooftop, which kicks off at 4pm.
