B*Witched, Atomic Kitten, S Club 3 and East 17 will perform at Wests City, previously known as Newcastle Panthers, on February 14, 2017.
Organisers Metropolis Touring announced last month a national tour that included Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The Newcastle show announced on Monday is the only regional date and has been added by popular demand.
Irish girl group B*Witched released their debut single C’est la Vie in 1998. They split in 2002, but reformed in 2012 alongside groups including Atomic Kitten for a documentary television series.
Atomic Kitten is best known for Whole Again, the fourth-best-selling song of all time by a girl group; as well as reintroducing Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling) to a younger audience.
S Club 3 was born out of S Club 7, the group behind hits including Bring It All Back, Don’t Stop Movin’ and S Club Party.
East 17 had 18 top 20 singles, but is perhaps best known for It’s Alright, which was number one in early 1994 for seven consecutive weeks. Its current line-up does not include original members Brian Harvey and Tony Mortimer. The presale starts 11am on Wednesday September 21. General admission tickets are on sale 9am Friday September 23. metropolistouring.com
