The annual Tilligerry Festival is once again coming to the Peninsula, taking residence at the recently upgraded Henderson Park, Lemon Tree Passage.
The festival attracts thousands of visitors and community residents every year and facilitates a means for the community to share ideas and learn about what might be impacting them in the future.
This year looks set to be even bigger with some new faces among the stall holders, along with the promise of bigger and better fairground rides for all the family to enjoy.
The community event draws together residents both young and old from neighbouring villages and has become an important voice in the Port Stephens community since it first began in the 1970s.

Running from November 15-20, the festival is packed with arts and crafts, music, barefoot bowls, a variety of stalls, great food and the popular Foreshore Fun day.
“We’ve been fortunate to have a much larger committee this year, which has resulted in some great donations and raffle prizes. Our amusement rides are also promising much more excitement this year too,” event organiser Fran Corner said.
“The festival really is an opportunity for the villages here to come together as a community, find out what is happening in their area and develop. We can easily be isolated here so providing a means for people to get information and share ideas is fantastic. It’s also important to see the younger people connect with the elderly residents too.”
