Each business put up a team to take part in the inaugural Business House Barefoot Bowls.
Plant Concreting emerged the winner at the end of a grueling four-week competition on Tuesday night.
“The teams felt each other out in the first week but it was on after that, it became more and more competitive as each week passed,” bowls development manager Richard Girvan said.
First prize was $500 for the winning team and a further $500 to spend on the charity of its choice.
Plant Concreting chose the Variety Children’s Charity. Nelson Bay Steel Fabrication donated its entire second place prize pool of $600 to Beyond Blue.
The Telstra Shop Salamander Bay won $400 of which it split its winnings with the Starlight Foundation.
“Not only was this an excellent event for businesses to network it gave them the opportunity to support some very good charities,” Mr Girvan said.
