The technology has proved to be a curiosity for shoppers at Salamander Centre this past week.
In four days the sales team said it helped secure holding deposits on eight apartments off the plan.
“It lets people take a tour through the very apartment they’re interested in and see exactly what view they would get and that gives people confidence,” architect and VR programmer Mark Edwards said.
“The selling has been done by him or herself because they’ve seen it with their own eyes.
“We’ve welcomed everyone from five to 85 to have a look.
“The 85-year-old came out with a huge smile on her face and said ‘I’m going to to tell my grandchildren what I’ve done today.”
Developer Rod Salmon began marketing the apartments in January 2015 at D’Albora Marina.
“From that we really felt there was demand for these apartments,” he said.
“We’ve really thought about what people moving to the area want.”
Mr Salmon said he’d previously completed projects in the Gladesville area that included a hotel, a pub and apartments.
Ascent includes a pool and a common outdoor area on the roof. The apartments are priced in the $495,000 to $2.4 million range.
“We’re building a great product and people are paying what is potentially a record price,” Mr Salmon said.
