Plumbing apprentices are eligible to apply for one of its $3000 grants to put toward training, be it through TAFE or a registered training organisation.
“Since we launched the inaugural Rheem Apprentice Plumber Grants program, we’ve awarded $150,000 in grants to apprentice plumbers around Australia,” Rheem chief operating officer Chris Taylor said.
“For 2017 we’ve bolstered the grants after taking into consideration substantial feedback from apprentices, teachers and employers.”
In past years $1000 grants were awarded to successful recipients, this year there are 10 grants valued at more than $3000 each. Each grant will comprise $2000 to go towards TAFE/RTO fees and text books, a $1000 voucher from the merchant of their choice to go towards tools, plus a tool bag.
The grants are available to apprentice plumbers across Australia but applicants need to be quick, with nominations closing on March 12.
“We have increased the value of the grants after assessing the myriad applications for previous grants and speaking with scores of apprentices, plumbing teachers and employers. From this feedback, we determined that the greatest financial hardships were affording fees, text books and tools. That’s why we’ve... boosted the value to provide even greater tangible assistance.”
Applications for the 2017 Rheem Apprentice Plumber Grants close on March 12.
