The winner of the tag and release, and capture divisions each receive a customised pink Penn reel.
Penn is the major tackle sponsor for Interclub and recognises the importance of Ladies day to Interclub.
Since the popular event was renamed the Lyndy Grieves Memorial in 2015 the reels have become treasured trophies among the competitors.
“The trophies’ have taken on that extra level of meaning within the fishing fraternity because Lyndy was such a valued and much-loved member of the fishing community,” Penn marketing manager Mark Huisken said.
“It’s now fitting that they stand as not only a badge of honour in terms of fishing, which Lyndy loved, but also a mark of respect.”
For nearly 30 years Lyndy helped man the Interclub radios with husband Neil atop Gan Gan lookout at Nelson Bay.
The radio base with the best view in Port Stephens keeps in contact with the boats at sea during the tournament.
This year approximately 50 anglers are expected to contest the Lyndy Grieves Memorial which kicks off Monday at 7am and concludes at 2.30pm.
“The event is proudly sponsored by Little Audrey Charters,” NSWGFA president Gary Chenoworth said.
“Phil Webster has been a massive supporter of ladies day for over a decade.”
