The men and women’s team rebounded strongly from the week before where both were dealt losses by Newcastle City.
For the women, last week’s loss was their first since the 2015 grand-final.
In the Hunter Haval Black Diamond Cup, Nelson Bay’s men’s premier team beat Killarney Vale 18.6 (114) to 6.6 (42).
The Marlins kicked the first six goals of the game.
Killarney Vale’s first goal did not come until the five minute mark of the second quarter.
The Marlins continued their dominance in the third quarter kicking five unanswered goals before running out 72-point winners, the second time this year they have easily accounted for the Bombers at home.
Elliott Davey Medallist Jayden Rymer was in great form up forward, kicking five goals in an eye-catching display.
Matthew Dews kicked three goals, whilst Todd Thornton, Luke Price and Jye Clayden all managed two goals apiece in a convincing display.
Best players for the Marlins were Louis Dews, Rymer, Jeremy and Chris Eddy and Ben Grace.
In the women’s competition, the Marlins returned to the winners circle with a solid 36-point victory over Wyong Lakes.
Final scores were Nelson Bay 8.8 (56) to Wyong Lakes 3.2 (20).
Reigning League Best and Fairest Lisa Steane led the goal-kickers with three majors, supported by Jess Phillips with two goals.
Best players for the Marlins were Hayley West, Steane, Phillips and Steane’s on-ball colleague Sophie Balcombe.
In reserve grade, fifth-placed Nelson Bay added crucial percentage with a thumping 99-point victory over Wyong Lakes.
Final scores were Nelson Bay 17.19 (121) to Wyong Lakes 3.4 (22).
John West rejected all of the Magpies’ defensive efforts, kicking nine goals, taking over as the leading goalkicker in the league.
Nathan Stewart, Brady Hearn and Lachlan West all kicked two goals in support of the in-form West.
The Marlins best players were Colin Graham, James Fleming, Tim Murphy and West.
Next week, Nelson Bay head to Hillsborough to take on Cardiff in the Black Diamond Cup.

The women’s side make the trip to the Central Coast to take on second-placed Gosford.
