Tastes at the Bay will be staged in Nelson Bay between Friday, November 3 and Sunday, November 5.

Some highlights in the program for 2017 Tastes so far include:
- A cooking demonstration marquee in Apex Park showcasing signature dishes from local restaurants as well as celebrity chef’s from various restaurants throughout the Hunter region as well as from Sydney
- Local and Hunter Valley wineries as well as local produce
- A Jazz luncheon cruise on the Moonshadow IV, which will feature live jazz and fine food
- Tomaree High School hospitality students showcasing their developed culinary skills at the festival
- Cheese and chocolate making classes
- Oyster shucking
Tastes at the Bay was established by the Tomaree Business Chamber in 2004.
It started at d’Albora Marinas and extended into Apex Park then into the Bay CBD.
The festival returned in 2016 after a year off, following a misplacement in funding.
A lunch cruise was introduced to the festival last year.
Its popularity has seen it return for 2017. The cruise offers diners fine food and live entertainment while cruising around the Port Stephens waterways.
This year, a winemakers dinner will be held at Nelson Bay Golf Club on the Friday night.
There will be jazz, blues, gourmet food, cooking demonstrations and market stalls at d’Albora Marinas and Apex Park on Saturday and Sunday.
