Cathy Cannon.

Originally from Forbes, now Port Stephens musician Cathy Cannon was given her first guitar at age 11.

Her love for music grew listening to artists like The Eagles, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, James Taylor to name a few.

After leaving school and travelling a great deal in Australia, her first solo acoustic recording was made in Cairns.

Cathy took up residence on the Gold Coast for 11 years and played numerous clubs, pubs, restaurants and shopping centres.

Her journey through music and love of acoustic guitar continues to grow through motherhood and beyond.

Cathy’s music has an easy listening, soft rock, folk feel that is aimed at a relaxed enjoyable experience – one to be remembered.

The guitarist and singer’s influences of today include Matchbox Twenty, Ed Sheeran, Pete Murray and Colbie Caillat.

Catch Cannon’s next performance at the Tilligerry RSL Club on Saturday, November 18.
