A change in rental situation forced the 18-month-old female dog’s owner to surrender her to Port Stephens Animal Refuge.
Refuge owner Mark Hickie said Bella was no problem.
“She would make a great family pet,” she said.
Bella is black and tan – the standard rottweiler coat colour – and large in size. She is used to living inside and out and has received some training.
“She will bark at strangers,” Ms Hickie said. “She has the guard dog instinct in her.”
Ms Hickie said Bella would be ideal for families with children that are a little older.
Bella will cost $285 to adopt from the Williamtown refuge. The fee covers the cost of vaccinations, desexing, microchipping and a lifetime registration.
