The NSW Corrective Community Project Group came to Mt Arthur to help with repairs on the shelter at Landa Lookout but what they found astounded them. The shelter has been damaged by vandals and also steel support posts have been removed. Chris George from the Mt Arthur Trust says surveillance cameras will be now placed at the shelter to catch unruly thieves. "The cost of the fines and possible imprisonment would far outweigh any money you could make on selling the posts. I am amazed by this," he said. The shelter is a tourist attraction for families to relax and look out at the view across the reserve and into Wellington and is a Rotary project. The Corrective Services inmates however said they would get to work and help repair the shelter.
