To commemorate 100 years since World War I, Port Stephens Legacy has put together a musical production called I Remember.
"The theme is remembering," Legatee John Warran said.
I Remember will feature the popular Australian Army Band Newcastle, the SeaSide Singers community choir and solo artists Rebecca O'Mara, Emma Elsley, Paul Morris and Peter Willis.
Warran said the Australian Army Band Newcastle, this year including the pipe and drum section, would open the September 13 concert.
The first half of the two-hour concert would also feature the SeaSide Singers.
"We'll issue song sheets out for audience participation," Warran said.
"The songs will be from the era of WWI."
The second half will feature I Remember, a story of two sweethearts who are torn apart by the war.
Warran said the storyline of I Remember, along with the music, was written by Tanilba Bay's Vic Marden.
The show will end with the ode, Last Post, evening hymn and Amazing Grace.
The winner of the raffle will be announced at the end.
I Remember will be held in the Tomaree High School hall between 2pm and 4pm.
Tickets cost $20 a person, school-aged children are free.
Tickets can be bought on the door.
All money raised from the concert goes to supporting Port Stephens Legacy, which cares for 340 widows and families in the local government area.
The Examiner has two double passes to give away to the September 13 show.
To win a pass, deliver your name and contact details on an envelope to the Examiner offices or in an email titled "Legacy" to ewatts@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
The winners will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday, September 10.
