Since taking ownership in early May, Matt O’Keefe has made it his priority to hit the ground running.
Industry qualified with a youthful exuberance that is all about getting in touch with clients’ needs and being hands on, Matt’s goal is to provide service that exceeds expectation every time.
“In my role as a marine repair and chandler, being accessible is critical and the pressure is always on,” Matt said. “For me it’s about instilling confidence.
“I grew up on the water in and around Pittwater, and have always worked on boats.
“I’ve worked in wholesale and distribution for other companies. I’ve repped up and down the coast selling products and now I’ve gone full circle onto the tools.
“Servicing the industry is in my blood and definitely a passion.“
Be it a repair, a tow or a consultation, Matt can assist you with your mechanical repairs and boating requirements. He understands that if you’re a commercial operator and you need a part, you generally need it yesterday. Down time is not an option.
“Since taking over I’ve had a few experiences where we’ve been able to deliver next day and it’s been a pleasant surprise for clients,” Matt said.
“If we don’t have it in stock I’ll go the extra mile to get the parts for my client.”
Through winter, Nelson Bay Marine is open Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, Saturday 8am to noon, with an emergency call-out and breakdown facility available. Through summer, the operation will go seven days a week.
