After 26 years operating within the Tomaree and Tilligerry peninsulas, the Community Nursing, Home Care and Disability provider has spread beyond the borders of Port Stephens, resulting in a recent rebranding process to the new name Care for You at Home.
“We needed a name that spoke of who we are and what we do, and this name just came to me” say’s Meagan.
“The logo incorporates the home at the centre of client care and the five intersecting hearts convey our core values: honesty, excellence, accountability, respect and teamwork. All intersecting to keep the client at home safe, well and Independent”
Meagan bought the small Tomaree Nursing Service in 2002, back then there was only 4 staff providing around 60 hours a week of care.
Today the service has 30 staff and provides around 540 hours a week of support. Employing local Registered Nurses, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses, Assistants’ in Nursing and Domestic Assistants.
The service provides care on behalf of many Federal, State and Local Government agencies including the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Community Nursing Program, Veterans’ Homecare Program and is an Approved Provider for all level Home Care Packages as well as the NDIS.
Other organisations who utilise the service include Workcover, Workers Compensation, iCare Dust Diseases Authority, Private Health Insurance Recipients and Self-Funded Clients to name a few.
Care is directed to achieve and maintain physical and psychological independence through individual needs assessments. Staff liaise closely with GP’s and Allied Health Colleagues to provide holistic care.
The service aims to maximize independence and enable clients to stay in their own homes or self-contained villa’s for as long as possible.
The community care is diverse from providing after school pick ups and respite for special needs children, to taking people shopping or to appointments, cleaning and garden maintenance, meal preparation, personal care or woundcare, medication administration or palliative services.
Clients enjoy their independence and being seen and treated in their own homes. Providing round the clock care brings great comfort to clients and their loved ones.
