The County Club is set on a stunning, expansive waterfront with spectacular views making it a prime destination for tourists and locals alike.
The Hotel’s new owner, Andrew Lazarus, says he is honoured and privileged to be just the third owner of the County Club and plans on ensuring that the hotel’s rich history is preserved and enhanced in the Hotel transformation.
The renovations are now in their 14th week and are scheduled for completion on December 15, just in time for the busy Christmas period.
It’s been an incredibly busy year for Mr Lazarus who only took over the Hotel last December.
“The intention of the renovation is to restore the hotel to its former glory by reinstating much of the hotel’s original 1950s features,” Mr Lazarus said.
“The complete transformation of the country club will continue in 2018 with the overhaul of the conferencing and functions facilities of Whitesands and the Promenade room.”

Mr Lazarus expects the county club to become an award-winning hotel as it will boast some of the best facilities ever assembled under one roof; including a public bar, sports bar, outdoor courtyard, cocktail bar, live music auditorium, ladies cane lounge, gaming room, TAB, kids play area with interactive games, café serving breakfast, a late night desert bar, coffee and juice bar.
“Sandy Foot Café will be relocated into the hotel which will mean the county club will trade continually from 6.30am till 2am daily [midnight on Sunday],” Mr Lazarus said.
With such extensive facilities, the venue hopes to cater to all demographics, from kids and their grandparents, to locals and holidaymakers.
Conferencing, corporate events and the weddings market will also be key focuses for the new country club.
Mr Lazarus expects the 201-room Ramada Resort, which is attached to the country club, will benefit from the improved facilities offered by the hotel with extensive breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dessert bar offerings to be launched on opening.
