Set on a stunning, expansive waterfront with spectacular views, the Country Club is an icon of the Bay, making it a prime destination for tourists and locals alike.
Final touches will continue through December, but management is taking bookings for its Christmas Day seafood buffet, and looking forward to an exciting new chapter for this grand old venue.
“I wouldn’t be taking bookings if I was not confident of being able to service the 400 people expected to attend,” hotel owner Andrew Lazarus said.
Despite the pressure to complete the venue by Christmas, parts of the Country Club were reopened for trade last Friday including the Beach Bar, VIP lounge and Bottleshop.
“Whilst we are excited to have opened these outlets we are far from being complete,” Mr Lazarus said.
“Many of the key features including furniture are yet to arrive but it was important we reopened to service our locals.
“Furniture deliveries will be arriving all the way up to Christmas Eve and with a total of 732 seats in the new venue. That’s a lot of chairs and tables to arrive.”
Mr Lazarus says with such a large venue he expects there will be something for everyone with an emphasis in catering to families and their kids.
A state-of-the-art interactive games rooms is being installed to entertain kids of all ages.
Food will also be a huge part of the new Country Club.

Executive chef Atick Elahi has been working with local suppliers for several months to design a menu that caters to all demographics, with a particular emphasis on seafood and wood-fired pizza.
“With over 100 menu items catering from breakfast to late-night deserts I’m confident we will cater to all tastes,” Atick said.
Mr Lazarus recalls the baptism of fire last year when locals and tourist descended on the venue from Christmas Eve.
“The period between Christmas and Australia Day was intense and with excitement around the reincarnation of the venue I can only image this period will again be hectic for the Country Club staff, some of whom have yet to be hired,” he said.
Shoal Bay Country Club’s rich history dates back to the 1930s.
