Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official to confirm his prize of $100,000, the man admitted he was stunned by the winning news.
“I had no idea until I checked my ticket just now. I’m rich. It’s very exciting.”
In addition to celebrating his windfall with his family, the thrilled winner said he had a few ideas about how he would spend his prize.
“I’d like to buy a new car first,” he exclaimed.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his one-number entry from Clarence Town IGA, in Grey Street, Clarence Town.
Clarence Town IGA staff member Bernadette Gehrig said she couldn’t wait to spread the news that a 1st Prize win had landed in town.
“It’s very exciting. I think this might be our first Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize but hopefully some more to come for our customers,” she said.
