Sheed, whose kick from the boundary with minutes to play sealed victory over Collingwood in the 2018 decider, has re-signed until the end of 2021.
The 23-year-old was dropped several times last season, and looked set to miss out on the club's finals campaign before Andrew Gaff's eight-week suspension opened the door for him.
Sheed seized the opportunity and ended up being named in a tie for West Coast's player of the finals series with Jack Redden.
"It was an easy decision but it's good to hang around for another couple of years," Sheed told the club's website.
"I have been here for the past five years, so it would be nice to hang around for another five and potentially be a one-club player."
Sheed said he has set his sights on becoming a more consistent player in 2019.
He is set to take part in the club's closed intraclub clash on Friday.
West Coast's first pre-season game is against Geelong at Leederville Oval on March 1.
