Police are searching for the driver of a ute that allegedly knocked two cyclists from their bikes and failed to stop on a busy Port Stephens road.

About 6.15am on Saturday, February 23, the two cyclists were travelling north on Nelson Bay Road at Nelson Bay when they were hit and knocked from their bikes by a passing ute, police said.
Both the male and female riders, aged in their 40s, suffered bruising and abrasions and one was transported to hospital for treatment.
The driver of a blue Toyota Hilux ute allegedly failed to stop after the collision, police said.
Police are seeking to find the driver of the Hilux, or any person who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash cam video footage.
The collision occurred on Nelson Bay Road about 1km south of Salamander Way.
