Audiences will be enchanted by one of the most beloved family musicals of all time when the magical tale of Peter Pan Jr is brought to life on the majestic Civic Theatre stage by international award-winning youth theatre company, Hunter Drama.
And what's more the Examiner has one family pass (four tickets) for the Friday evening performance on October 11 at 7pm.
Under the expert guidance of acclaimed Nelson Bay director James Tolhurst, 50 of the Hunter's brightest young musical theatre performers will present a lavish, large-scale production of this high-flying, Tony Award-winning musical which has been delighting audiences around the world for more than 60 years.
James began dancing with the Nelson Bay-based Robyn Yvette Dance Centre at the age of 10 and went on to teach dance at Studio 2324 in Raymond Terrace for many years.
James is now living in Sydney but commutes to Newcastle every week in his role as associate director of Hunter Drama. This is his sixth directing project but the first time directing something on the scale of the main stage at the Civic Theatre.
Producer Daniel Stoddart, who founded Hunter Drama in 2007, said his team was delighted to be providing this performance opportunity to the 50 very eager students who made it through the highly-competitive audition process.
"To perform on the Civic Theatre stage is an honour for any thespian and we are proud to be giving these children - some as young as nine - that opportunity," said Stoddart.
To win the family pass, simply send an email to portstephens@austcommunitymedia.com.au with your name and contact phone number, along with "Peter Pan Jr." in the subject line before October 4.

Peter Pan JR will be at the Civic Theatre for six performances across October 10,11 and 12.
