Do you possess a skill, a passion, a talent or a service that you would like to develop?
If you answered yes top any of the above, then come along to Tomaree Youth Community Action's (TYCA) new and exciting free Creative Makers workshops starting on October 3.
"We may be able to help you turn your ideas or hobbies into money making ideas," said TYCA secretary Linda Cavanagh.
TYCA is partnering with Hunter Futurepreneurs, Port Stephens Council and Salamander Bay Recycling to offer young people aged between 14 and 24 the opportunity to participate in workshops that will help them develop their ideas, cost out how they could make those ideas work, produce a product or deliver a service and market that product or service successfully.
"We are encouraging entrepreneurs to look at upcycling products with the support of Salamander Bay Recycling. The reward at the end of the program is where business owners will be given the opportunity to sell their products or services at a Creative Makers markets to be held in December 2019," Ms Cavanagh said.
"This is a five-part program that includes training, mentoring and support and the opportunity to sell your products or services.
"You will need to commit to the times and days and there will be the need for you to do some product development at home."
The four training sessions will take place at the boccie club rooms at the Tomaree Sports Complex on Thursdays, October 3 and 10 (10am-4 pm), and on Fridays, November 1 and November 22 (5pm-6.30pm).
The market day will be held in December at a date and location to be advised.
