Stop blaming the Greens
New South Wales RFS boss Shane Fitzsimmons appeared on Sunrise to set the record straight amidst claims that it's all the Greens fault for a reduction in hazard reduction burns.
Fitzsimmons stated "We are environmentally conscious and law-abiding, but I've got to say, the environmental clearances are not our problem", that "Our biggest challenge with hazard reduction burning is the weather and the windows available to do it safely and effectively", and that "climate change had contributed to the unprecedented number of blazes burning across Australia this season".
No one single fire can be said to be caused by climate change. Climate change has contributed to our record high temperatures and exacerbated the drought, which in turn has created the conditions for this unprecedented bushfire crisis.
This is a climate emergency and we must do more to limit global warming and reduce Australia's emissions.
Australia was recently ranked 57 out of 57 countries for action on climate change.

Rallying in times of crisis
A huge thanks to all of our local RFS volunteers for their assistance in fighting fires this terrible bushfire season. You are the best of our community.
It is crucial at times of crisis that our community rallies together, which is exactly what we have done.
It is wonderful that so many local groups such as the Country Women's Association Nelson Bay (who hosted a Devonshire tea fundraiser over the weekend) are supporting the victims of the bushfires in any way that they can.
Our community is proud to be helping those who are helping others.

Silent majority has spoken
Are the climate change alarmists saying that global warming was responsible for compelling the 183 individuals charged or cautioned by police in NSW to commit bushfire related offences?
Did global warming cause the various states to minimise hazard reduction burns?
"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H.L. Mencken.
Surely the last federal election, where the silent majority spoke gives you some pause in your holy crusade. And please, just go back to calling it Global Warming because that's what you are always banging on about.
Do you want to cut down on some of the "excess" world population?
That is the root cause of your allegations after all. "Man Made Climate Change!"
Read some history, read some philosophy, do some introspection. Build your church, preach your doomsday sermons from your pulpit.
Pray to your climate gods. Hold hands in your righteous piety and shun us sinners. Yes, please shun us and leave us to go about our lives unimpeded. The emperor has no clothes!
I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of DROUGHTS and flooding rains.....

Mean spirited theft
To whoever stole my Christmas laser light projector - how mean spirited you must be!
We need every bit of cheer in these stressful times, Shame on you.

Pool 'paid' for
Can some one please explain why Councillor John Nell should look like the 'hero' of Medowie about a pool when, as I understand it, Medowie had already raised more than ample funds years ago for a new pool, but it was used for the one at Lakeside?
