The 46-year-old man was arrested by Port Stephens police about 4.15pm on Saturday, August 8 after he was allegedly found riding an unregistered and uninsured Suzuki motorcycle.
Police said the man, who does not hold a rider's licence, rode the bike into the middle of a residential street outside his Raymond Terrace home where he "conducted an aggravated burnout".
"This occurred when the male caused a continuous loss of traction whilst holding the front brake to the bike on for an extended period of time," police said.
"This action caused a large amount of smoke to be emitted from the rear tyre which obscured any view for other road users making road conditions extremely dangerous."
The incident was reported to police. On arrival, officers spoke to the man.
Port Stephens police said that it "became evident" that the incident had been captured by the accused's wife on her mobile phone.
"Police viewed the woman's phone and observed photographs depicting the entire offence. As a result, the male made admissions to his role in the offence and was subsequently interviewed at the scene."
The man was issued with a court attendance notice. He will appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on September 28 for street racing offences including interfere with persons enjoyment or risk safety, use unregistered class A motor vehicle, use uninsured motor vehicle and unlicensed for class (first offence).
