Huge demand for testing and six new cases in the region on Monday, one from Medowie to take the Port's confirmed cases to two, plus lobbying from state MP Kate Washington has prompted a drive through testing clinic to be established in Raymond Terrace.
Histopath Pathology will operate a drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic at Lakeside Leisure Centre from August 10. It will be open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Sunday.
It will be in addition to Laverty Pathology's drive-through testing clinic at Tomaree Sports Complex in Nelson Bay, which has had its hours of operation extended, and the Raymond Terrace Respiratory Clinic.
Where to get tested for COVID-19 in Port Stephens
Raymond Terrace Histopath Pathology drive-through clinic
- Location: 13 Leisure Way, Raymond Terrace. In the Lakeside Sports Complex carpark near the Raymond Terrace rugby league clubhouse.
- Opening times: 8am to 6pm Monday to Sunday.
- Appointments: Not required, nor is a GP referral.
Nelson Bay Laverty Pathology drive-through clinic
- Location: 20 Aquatic Close, Nelson Bay. The testing bay is located at the rear of the No. 1 Sportsground at Tomaree Sports Complex. Access to the clinic is through the main entrance to the complex near Dick Burwell Oval.
- Opening times: Amid the Hunter outbreak, the clinic's hours have been extended to 7.30am-4pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am-3pm on Saturday "until further notice". Closed on Sunday.
- Appointments: Not required, nor is a GP referral.
Raymond Terrace Respiratory Clinic
- Location: 4 Jacaranda Avenue, Raymond Terrace. Entry is at rear of health centre on Swan Street, corner of Jacaranda Avenue. Phone the clinic on (02) 4983 0900 when you have arrived, and remain in car until further instruction.
- Opening times: 8am-5pm Monday and Friday, 9am-5pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Closed weekends.
