Beginning January 5, James Road between Boyd Boulevard and Raymond Close will be closed for five weeks and Kula Road between Evans Road and Karwin Road closed for seven weeks while upgrades are complete.
The expected closure period for each road is weather dependant.
Port Stephens Council stated that James Road will be closed to all through traffic from Boyd Boulevard to Raymond Close.
Residents within the road closure area will be have access to their homes and all other through traffic will be detoured via Brocklesby Road.
During construction, Kula Road will be open to residents only.
All other through traffic will be detoured on Karwin Road.
The council said bus routes will be affected by the seven week detour.
