Maritime staff will be collecting expired flares at Soldiers Point Marina boat ramp (in MItchell Street) from 7.30am to 10am then Little Beach boat ramp (Lighthouse Road) from 11am to 2pm on January 11.
Officers will also be collecting expired flares at Stockton North Boat Ramp (Fullerton Street) on January 11 from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
The maritime service program, launched in 2019, provides the boating community with an opportunity to safely dispose of their out of date flares.
Flares contain hazardous materials that must be disposed of correctly.
Most flares have a use-by-date of three years and must be replaced before expiry.
Penalties apply for not carrying current flares on a vessel, so it is vital boat owners regularly check and replace flares.
